Reflective motorcycle clothes - necessity or fad

Autumn is coming soon and the weather will not allow for frequent and long trips on a single track as if we wanted to. Driving after dark and in the dark will become an everyday necessity. It was then good to be visible and to see others. It is not necessary to explain the legitimacy of applying glare - this is how the article would start, but it will not start, if only because translation is necessary, especially among motorcyclists.

Although it often arouses mixed feelings, it is extremely lucid in this matter - the threat of a lack of visibility is enormous and if a well-chosen reflection makes its owner visible on the road from a distance of up to 150 m, its absence means that it will be visible only from a distance of 30 m! Research on the causes of accidents involving motorcyclists clearly indicate that people wearing reflective elements are exposed to an accident by 37% less frequently than people who do not wear any reflections. The helmet itself, in white, light or painted with reflective paint reduces the possibility of taking part in an accident from 19 to 24%.

Autumn is coming soon and the weather will not allow for frequent and long trips on a single track as if we wanted to. Driving after dark and in the dark will become an everyday necessity. It was then good to be visible and to see others. The stories quoted below have indeed happened last season, but they can be dated to any autumn or early spring evening. Way from school to home. 7pm. It is already very grayish, and with the background of an unlit roadside, two pedestrians and one cyclist merge. Their jackets glow in the dark with reflective fabric. "Oh, look! At last, people have thought about safety and wear reflections! Well, unless it is motorcyclists... "Of course, my statement works one hundred percent. If someone "shines", means - a motorcyclist. However, is it always? ... In practice, 120 m dividing the visible and invisible motorcyclist may be the only difference between a motorist alive and dead...

There are many criteria that must be met by motorcycle clothing - as a rule; it must be pleasing and well protected. In addition, how is it with visibility? How much do we pay attention to reflective elements? After all, they also increase our safety. David L. Hough, an authority in the field of motorcycling for many two-wheelers, in his book Motorcycle Player Perfect mentions how important it is to wear flares by people moving on a motorcycle. Hough plays a special role for beginner motorcyclists, but nowadays, especially in Poland, where the weather does not spoil us, regardless of the internship, it is worth investing in one's own safety.

Although there is many reflective clothing on the market, it is most often associated with a green or orange vest - banned by a large group of motorcyclists. Hated, but until recently treated as the only option to improve our visibility, especially on long journeys. It was difficult to deny its raison d'tre. Increasingly, however, professional motorcycle clothing is equipped with reflective elements. We do not have to think about the vest at the time, especially since the location of these reflections is thoughtful, so that the clothing looks aesthetically and does not scare large parts of reflective material, while also performing the function of reflecting light.

The boys rode straight into the car's wheels by bicycle

Two 14-year-old boys were hospitalized in the Lodz region last night with serious injuries. The boys rode on one bike without safety vest and fell under the wheels of a 19-year-old who was passing by.

The accident took place around 20 in the municipality. Two 14-year-old boys were riding on one bike; one of them was sitting on the vehicle's frame. They moved along the left lane of the road, in the same direction the pony Fiat driver was driving - says Barbara from the police in Pocono. The driver saw from the distance a red light point; he was convinced that it was walking. It turned out, however, that they were boys riding a bicycle without any high visibility vest. At one point, the bike came off the side of the road directly under the Fiat wheels. The driver did not manage to brake and collided with the two-wheeler - he reports.

Both 14-year-olds were hospitalized with serious injuries. They are in a difficult condition. Fiat driver was sober, his car was secured for technical tests - says Shape. The police are appealing to adults to pay attention to children riding alone on busy roads. For their safety, remember to wear reflective vests, their bikes are properly lit and, above all, to comply with traffic regulations.

Protect children safe return to school

On Saturday, police officers from the District Police Headquarters together with the Carrefour supermarket and firefighters, reminded children about the basic traffic rules and general safety rules.

The beginning of the school year is an opportunity to give children and teenagers a few comments on safety. After the summer vacation, the youngest often forget about the basic safety rules, as well as about the dangers lurking on them every day.

That is why on Saturday, September 2, police officers command together with fire brigade officers and the Carrefour supermarket, on the square in front of the store, carried out an action under the slogan "Safe return to school." Police officers explained to the children how to behave during the road to school and how to cross safely the road or rail crossing. The officers reminded about safety rules while cycling, in the car, and on the bus. They also observed children and adolescents against contacts with strangers. A very important element enhancing road safety is wearing retro-reflective elements, which was called by law enforcement officers during conversations with students and their parents. During the action, children received pendants, vests and other reflective elements, which the Carrefour market gave to them - reports the younger Bowen, spokeswoman for the policemen.

A big attraction for the youngest was the display of equipment that is on the equipment of the police and fire brigade and the possibility of entering the wheel of a police car or fire engine.

- We hope that thanks to such actions, children will be able to avoid situations posing a threat to their health and life and behave in an appropriate manner in crises - sums up a police spokesperson.

It is worth noting that from Monday, social prevention officers began a series of meetings with the youngest students and teachers about staying safe while walking on the road, passing through belts, wearing reflective vest and other situations related to the road to school.

Mandatory reflective vests for every pedestrian

From September 1, every pedestrian walking after dark outside the built-up area will have to wear reflective clothing or a headband. According to statistics, about 1,000 pedestrians and cyclists die in Poland on dark roads every year. From September 1, everyone moving around at dusk along roads in the unconstructed area will have to have visible reflective elements. Janus Dulia from the slip road in Sups should be extended by unpublished areas, including built-up ones, because many municipalities cannot afford sidewalks and illuminate the village all night long.

From the beginning of next month, however, we will be looking closely at pedestrians walking on roads outside the city. At the beginning, we will be instructing those undisciplined, but then punishing them with fines - says the deputy head of the road department of the command. What are the mandates? The new provision on the need to wear reflectors is not yet included in the tariff. Until this happens, we will issue fines on general terms, from PLN 50 to PLN 100 - he adds to the poke. However, it is not about the level of seats, but about the safety of pedestrians. Many people note that in the minds of pedestrians and cyclists, especially those of adults, there is no need to wear reflectors.

- There is a terrible fashion for black. People rarely ask for reflective vests. When I order yellow or red panniers for a bike, they lie for months, and customers ask for dark ones - says Mikoyan from the bicycle shop. The local government was planning to take care of the reflective education. At the meeting in the City Hall, representatives of the office, municipal guard and neighboring municipalities, police, organizations for the disabled and the elderly took the floor. They talked about statistics. In addition, so far, the words ended, because the Arabesque association, which initiated the action, did not receive ministerial money. It is different in rural communes, where the risk of an accident on an unlit road is much greater.

- There were tragic situations with us. Near a village administrator died on an unlit road, and at the exit from the national six to the car hit a cyclist. Fortunately, the construction of safe exits has already been won there - recalls Pawed Lewandowski from the Commune Office in Dominica. - We have been campaigning for the safety of our children a year ago, together with "Gomes Somoza,” as part of which all the first received safety vests and comic booklets. Older urge us to wear flares, distribute them at festivals and harvest festivals to tell the pulpit about road safety.

Firefighters gave students their reflective vests

Firefighters gave students their reflective vests. Dressing them during evening exits will improve security. Students from the Primary School in Plenary visited the drums from the local unit of the Volunteer Fire Brigade.

In a festive gift, they brought reflective vests for all pupils and children from the kindergarten. Preschoolers received safety vests with a smiling face, and other students with the OSP Plenary logo. OSP vice president Macaw Krupp urged children not to forget about wearing vests because they can save health and even life when going out in the evenings on busy streets.

It is worth introducing a fashion for wearing reflective waistcoats, and adults should pay special attention to children's safety on the road and shine the example themselves - say the Dramas.

Pilot jacket, ENAC clarifies the requirement of high visibility

The new version of the regulation on remotely piloted aircraft by art 8 paragraph 8 obliges the pilot to wear a high visibility jacket with the words "pilot of APR" to be immediately visible and recognized. The term high visibility has made many think that it is necessary to use a jacket according to EN ISO 20471: 2013.

FIAPR took an interest in the matter and today announced that ENAC has specified that it is sufficient to use a reflective vest similar to that used for emergency stops of cars as long as it has the appropriate wording.

In the note, the Italian APR Federation adds: "the reflective jackets conforming to the EN ISO 20471: 2013 standards concern those aimed at a different purpose than that foreseen for the pilots of SAPR, for which in our case it is NOT necessary to refer to this standard."

"Reflective harness for mushroom": the bill by Angelo

"Avoiding or reducing as much as possible the occurrence of accidents during the hunting season, it is due to the lack of recognition of people who are in the woods looking for mushrooms. Through a high visibility reflective vest that they will wear and that will make them more visible even when there is a need to find them in case of loss.”

This is the content of a bill presented by Angelo, leader of Forsa Italia in the Liguria Region. "In light of the latest events that have occurred in our woods, I thought it necessary to propose an amendment to the Regional Law of 2014 that regulates the collection and marketing. With the adoption of a reflective harness, the seekers would have the possibility of being visible from long distances, clearly reducing the risk of being hit in a manner accidental, as recently happened, with tragic implications, in the Municipality".

"The reflective harness - continues the regional councilor - would also have another important purpose: to facilitate relief if there was the need to find a lost person in the woods, another event that often happened. For all these reasons, which are designed to protect both mushroom and hunters, I have prepared this bill and safety vest, which would provide the delivery of the harness to the fun aioli by the bodies responsible for issuing the card or by the searcher himself.”

"Safety during the hunting season must come first and this change to the existing law would be a piece to make it more concrete," concludes the president of the council group Forsa Italy.

The total safety equipments to SLRC police

As part of the coordinated work and friendship ties between Yuma Police Department and the Preventive Police and Municipal Transit, the Arizonan corporation delivered tactical safety equipment, informed the graduate Julio Csar Valenzuela Murrieta.

The Commissioner General of Municipal Public Safety indicated that the donation consisted of tactical equipment, helmets and safety vests for road operations, which will be of great support for the different preventive tasks performed in this population. He thanked the Arizona authorities for the donation of the equipment, but mainly for the coordinated work that is done to maintain security on both sides of the border.

He recalled that a close relationship is maintained on issues of recovered stolen vehicles, arrest warrants and other crimes. In the same way, the police chief recalled that prevention actions are promoted, such as warning children and young students who cross the border daily to go to school, this to avoid being used and tricked into carrying drugs in their backpacks.

Julio Csar Valenzuela Murrieta thanked the Yuma Police Department and the Sonora-Arizona International Police organization for their support, especially the liaison officers of the Arizona Department of Public Security, Cedillas, and Miguel Castillo. The commander of the Municipal Traffic Department, Hector in safety clothing, who is the liaison with the corporations of the neighboring US entity, was present at the meeting, he added.

The company SS manufactures a new mesh vest

The Spanish company Services has expanded its catalog of products with the manufacture of a new version of its full mesh openwork vest CHS-5, approved under EN ISO 20471 CLASS 1, as a perfect solution in High Visibility vest for summer.

Services and Security has been a pioneer in the homologation of high visibility garments. Already in the 80s bet on this sector, when its founders, then specialized in the field of road signage and emergency vehicles, began to manufacture protective garments High Visibility.

Although these first articles today would not comply with the existing regulations, they have been able to adapt to the new requirements of EN-471: 1994 to continue being pioneers, obtaining the certification of their vests as High Visibility garments in May 1997.

Fines that can put you even with the car stopped

Speeding or driving while using your mobile phone is two of the most common causes for which you can receive a traffic penalty. Also with the car stopped we can be committing an infraction, and not only for having parked in a forbidden zone.

There are many fines rules for keeping the road safety. These fines are more common than it seems, so from the blog of the insurer Catalane Occident remind us of some behaviors that we will have to avoid in order not to be fined.

For example, most drivers do not know that it is not allowed to wash the car on the street, or make any repairs. If we do, we risk a fine that can be symbolic or very important, depending on the municipality in which we have our residence.

At the gas station, improperly refueling can represent a fine of 200 Euros and the withdrawal of 3 points from the driver's license, since it cannot be done with the lights on or the engine running. The same thing can happen if you have the radio on or the mobile phone while doing this operation. When you go off car without wear high visibility vest also will get fines.

The bad state of the registration of your car can also cause a fine, even if you do not drive. Any sign of deterioration or dirt that prevents the correct identification of the car can be the cause of a fine of 80 Euros. If you have changed your home and have not notified your new address to the Traffic Department, you can also receive a penalty. It is a simple and free to process, so it is worthwhile to notify the DGT and avoid fines.

The motives of fine of transit having the stopped car are very numerous, and include also getting off the car without the corresponding reflective vest, what can represent a sanction of 200 Euros and the withdrawal of 3 points of the driving license. Remember that you must also place the corresponding signaling triangles.

Pedestrians received safety vest due to the traffic safe

The campaign of the DGT and the Xansa includes awareness talks aimed at older people in the centers with more black spots for pedestrians.

Person over 65 years of age, dressed in dark clothes walking near his house on the shoulders of secondary roads, without a reflective vest and crossing outside the pedestrian crossings. It is the most common profile of fatalities due to abuses in Galicia, one of the blights of accidents in which the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) focuses its awareness campaigns. So far this year five pedestrians died in the community hit by a vehicle, which means in just two months 35% of the 14 fatalities of all 2015. None wore a safety vest, so from Traffic have decided to strengthen awareness of passers-by on the importance of making drivers visible with a joint campaign with the Xansa that includes the distribution of 2,000 vests during this year -400 before Holy Week- and talks in the town halls, especially in those that concentrate more black spots of abuses. It will be an informative campaign in which it will not be fined, although in the cases of repeat offenders "other measures will have to be taken,” as warned yesterday by the government delegate in Galicia, Santiago Villanueva.

Last year, the Traffic Department designed a risk map of abuses that included 50 municipalities. As explained, yesterday the lieutenant colonel, the actions in the most conflictive nuclei with the reinforcement of the surveillance. Or the improvement of the infrastructures explain that in the current map only five municipalities repeat - despite the fact that the total figure is around 50 again when analyzing the 170 serious and minor abuses of 2015. According to Villanueva, the causes that explain the high numbers of abuses in the community, although - the 14 pedestrians without wearing reflective clothing who died in 2015 are three less than the previous year and 72% below the 50 registered in 2005.

How about install radars in private cars

After a pilot test in Normandy, its presence will be generalized in September; they will circulate without identifying and will be almost undetectable. France privatizes radars as it sounds: these days a pilot test starts in Normandy whereby civilians in safety vest will drive the radar cars. What until now was an exclusive task of the security forces, happens to depend, in part, on the citizens.

The objective seems to be that in September the service is completely outsourced. Right now, in France there is a fleet of 400 vehicles with built-in radar, with an average of one hour of operation per day. Agents are missing so that the cars do more kilometers.

When the service is privatized, it wills probably double the number of cars and these will circulate up to eight hours a day. Obviously, the direct consequence will be an increase in the number of sanctions. The Government, however, justifies its decision by ensuring that it will be able to generate more employment and that it will not pay drivers based on the fines they impose. No spokesperson for the Directorate General of Traffic has wanted, but sources of the (DGT) ensure that, for now, "this solution is not even raised." "Two weeks ago, the Interior Minister presented a series of measures to reduce the accident rate and this was not among them," they add the same sources.

The idea of the French Government is that civil mobile radars, in approved cars, operate under these conditions:

•Camouflaged. They will be completely undetectable. The clinometers will be very inconspicuous and only the driver will go inside, without a uniform or a reflective vest.

•Fines in movement. The vehicles will not hide behind the hedges or park on the shoulder. The sanctions will always make them move.

•Send the GPS. Drivers cannot choose the route they want. The cars will incorporate a GPS in which the itinerary will be set by the Administration.

•Sign recognition. The radars themselves will integrate cartography and will have registered the maximum speeds of each road. It will be an automatic service.

In Spain, currently a fleet of 300 mobile radars is monitor the road both in motion and stationed. The legislation does not oblige the DGT to signal its presence, but fixed radars are always identified and mobiles are increasingly identified.

Apart from fixed radars, tripods and guns, in Spain there is a fleet of 275 mobile radars integrated in vehicles. They wear safety clothing and are not always in operation, because a percentage of them are usually under repair at the Institute of Metrology, and the DGT does not offer data on the number of hours that remain in circulation. What it does indicate on its website are the sections where surveillance is intensified, although that does not mean there are no radars in other places.

Cirque du Soleil assembles the tent with wear safety vest

This Thursday, July 13, they lifted the iconic blue reflective material and yellow tent from Cirque du Soleil in the Port of Asuncin. Approximately what will be the stage for the Mauna show, the flags of the artistic group wave, in addition to the national pavilions of Canada and Paraguay?

The expectations of the process; journalists, photojournalists and reporters received a helmet and reflective safety vest on arrival at the construction site.

For the first time in Latin America, and with the support of the Municipality of Asuncin, the participants accompanied and experienced the visual and technical deployment of the facility, which will last for 8 days.

The invitation to meet behind the scenes and preparations for the circus was made weeks before. The Company Head, Amelia Lavoie, was available during the tent installation, for interviews.

Flags of Cirque du Soleil, from Paraguay and Canada, wave on the property.

The awning has capacity for 2,600-seated people, who will witness the magic of Mauna on Wednesday July 26. There are reflective signs for the guiding.

Five steps to act correctly if you have a breakdown on the road

It is necessary to illuminate the vehicle that represents an obstacle in the road or to place the reflective triangles only when safety conditions allow it. In 2016, road mishaps increased by 16% compared to the previous year. A few situations that make many cars an obstacle for the rest of the road users, so a car parked on the road must always be signaled as quickly as possible.

In order for this action to be carried out without jeopardizing the security of the occupants of the stopped vehicle and being carried out in an appropriate manner, the startup Vitoria Help Flash has summarized some of the keys to action:

1. Move away so as not to disturb: Whenever possible, the vehicle should be stopped on the shoulder and act calmly so that the emergency is as dangerous and uncomfortable as possible. In case the road does not have a shoulder, it is best to leave it as far as possible on the right side, bearing in mind that it is necessary to avoid exits of curves, changes of grade or areas of poor visibility.

2. Activate the emergency lights: If the fault occurs on the motorway or highway, in low visibility conditions or between sunrise and sunset, in addition to turning on the emergency lights, the position lights will also start up, and in its case, those of gauge. However, much of the damage to the vehicles is electrical, which makes it impossible to use warnings and wired devices, so the vehicle will not be visible to other drivers. To avoid this type of situation, it is necessary to have a luminous device that allows the car to be signaled without having to have an electricity point.

3. Put on the reflective vest: Once the vehicle has been placed in a suitable area, the regulations require the driver to put on the reflective vest before getting off the car. A rule that makes it essential to always keep this garment inside the car. Also, and although it is not mandatory that the rest of occupants also wear with the vest, if they do they can avoid possible abuses.

4. Place the safety triangles: This is where we enter one of the most unknown terrains for most drivers, not only when calculating distances, but also in their obligatory nature. Many people who sit behind the wheel do not know that, in case of immobilization of the vehicle due to breakdown or accident, it is not obligatory to use the pre-signaling triangles if the conditions of visibility or traffic prevent it or are not safe.

When the conditions of circulation allow its use, the law forces to place the triangles 50 meters from the damaged vehicle, that is to say about 80 steps. However, this obligation will be such only when from that point it can be visible at a distance of 100 meters (twice the distance that separates us from our vehicle). This separation will guarantee greater safety and allow other drivers to react in time and move with caution before reaching the height of the obstacle. This circumstance usually occurs when the damaged vehicle stops at a grade or a curve, where it is advisable to place it at the beginning of the section.

5. Be safe and ask for help: Once the vehicle has been signaled with reflective material, it's time to get safe. Both the driver and the occupants must not be in an area where they do not distract the rest of the drivers, nor do they pose a new obstacle, and always off the road.

In addition, it is time to ask for help. It is important to identify yourself and the more detailed the information provided, the greater the probability that the services will arrive as soon as possible, both to attend to the injured and to remove the damaged vehicle from the road and to restore circulation.

They raise fines for not wearing the vest

Deputy DC Mario argued, "You have to make a legal change to the Traffic Law so that this can be considered a fault and you can take a fine as appropriate if you do not use reflective vest. Because otherwise it have made spend thousands and thousands of Chileans to ride this famous vest in the glove compartment.

The Minister of Transport, who highlighted the effects of the decree, welcomed the assessments.

"I am responsible for any problem in its implementation. We had differences between regions, but when we talking about a white reflective gear, the problem of a white march is the white gear ends. There will be the same problem, people who did not buy and gave that we had started this decree that was published 15 months before its implementation, it was a sufficiently broad term to inform," he said.

Gomez-Lobo added "to legislate on the use, I am open to study that One of the benefits of this initiative has been that it has had a side effect." Cyclists have also started using this safety clothing, so I think that it has been positive. "

Motorcyclists against the law of use of safety vest

This afternoon from 17:00, members of different groups and independent motorcyclists will be concentrating in the Castaneda of the city. In addition, they will carry out a protest against the measures that will be implementing in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and that would be replicate in the rest of the country, which will force motorcyclists to wear safety vests and helmets with the motorcycle's patent.

On March 9, in a joint action between the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the national government, announced that in 90 days motorcyclists will be required to carry the patent on the road printed or engraved on the helmet, both the driver and the passenger. While the latter, in addition, must use a reflective vest with the domain.

This measure has already been implementing in the province of Buenos Aires since 2014; they are carrying out even more extreme regulations, such as prohibiting two people on board of a vehicle with these characteristics.

According to the authorities, these measures "will have an impact on the reduction of the accident rate because other vehicles will be able to recognize motorcycles at a distance.” In addition to being a palliative in favor of the fight against crime as "the last years grew steals with motorcycles, reaching 60 percent of crimes committed in some provinces."

Eduardo Perez president of the "Grouping 2 Wheels" of Commodore announced to El that this afternoon from 17:00 on the Castaneda downtown "we will meet all the clubs and independent motorcyclists groups of yellow vest with patent number and helmet with patent number.”

Perez stressed that "this call will be in almost all cities of the country, today all motorcyclists in the country are against this law, and we invite the entire community to support us in this claim."

The reflective vest use for the visualization theme

After the presentation of the six schools that will participate in the final phase of the second school competition "In the voice of children", last Tuesday in the communal building, NORTE in reflective uniform spoke with the Director General of Transit and Transportation of the Municipality of Rivera.

Mauricio referred to the school safe transit contest. He expressed that the contest "is a great success", because the Department of Rivera is the only country level with this modality, where the Intendance and the Departmental Inspection of Primary act together.

"The objective is to generate culture in transit, transfer it to the population, since it is the fundamental tool to lower the accident rate. The idea is to show what is being done from Rivera to the world, "explained the head.

Gonzalez emphasized, "There are already more than 36,000 views in a week. This will serve as an example for the whole population and for the world, being a message of the children, who teach us how to behave in transit.”

Referring to the accident figures in the Department of Rivera, he said that this occurs more with motorcycles and mopeds. "In our car park there are more than one hundred thousand vehicles, between the two cities, and sixty thousand motorcycles circulate. For being more dangerous, we are working on the use of the reflective vest, for the visualization theme, "he explained.

The Director of Traffic and Transportation noted that "the driver must slow down, respect traffic signals, not use the cell phone", although he recalled that "there is a correct signaling from the Transit Division, which in two years has been applied a lot and it has the backing of the Departmental Intending. The idea is to continue advancing and counting on the support of the public.”

Returning to the theme of the school competition "In the voice of children", said that the contest "is one more stage of the work of Road Education in schools. Officials go to schools to educate children on road safety, and work with teachers, principals and later in the year, the contest takes place. "

In Dilbert Cholulas photographic shot, Education officials give a talk about traffic in the initial education school "Green Land School".

Dont forget the safety equipment when walk in the sea

A boat trip is for sure a lot of fun. But between the weather, the equipment on board and the prolonged exposure to natural light, some recommendations are essential to navigate safely. Especially if you have children!

Before going out to sea, check carefully the schedules and coefficients of the tides as well as the weather forecasts, so as not to be surprised by the variations of the nature. Also ensure that everyone on board has a safety lifejacket that fits their size. Everyone must also leave with their sunglasses and a cap or hat to protect the eyes, the head ... and thus avoid sunstroke.

On the side of the skin, apply sunscreen before leaving on all visible parts, even on your whole body in anticipation of a dive in the open sea. Take with you the tubes of cream for regular applications. Yes, despite appearances and feelings, the clouds let a large number of UV rays that can weaken your skin. Finally, even if the end of the holidays is approaching and your skin is already tanned, do not worry! Tanning certainly limits the occurrence of sunburn since your skin has become accustomed to sun exposure. But the risk 0 does not exist, let alone at sea on the surface of which the impression of freshness and moisture easily masks the force of the rays. A high visibility safety vest is eye catching for keeping your safety.

Before leaving, check that your basket will be enough to sustain everyone's stomachs. Think of the practical and nutritious picnic formula, and plan for 1 liter of water per person if you leave for the day. Know it, to go to sea with an empty stomach exposes to seasickness! Be careful however to fatty and heavy meals. They can cause difficulties of digestion often misguided on board. In addition, do not forget the pharmacy kit with its lot of bandages, anti-nausea, mercurochrome, scissors and tweezers.

In the piloting department now ... if you have to do little tricky maneuvers, your children will have to sit, both hands on fixed supports, buttocks well set, especially if the toddlers are light weights. In the best case, tell the young people to stay in the cockpit for maximum safety.

Finally, never leave a child alone on board or at the controls of the boat even they wear the safety clothing. And despite the concentration you show, always keep an eye on the actions of your toddlers. Also plan a child's difficulty in staying in place for a long time. If it starts to get agitated, try taking a break where everyone can let off steam.

Safety equipment for cyclists to ride safely

From November 6 to 9, there will be a national awareness campaign for cyclists "Cyclists, shine! About the theme of lighting - Its about convincing aficionados of the 2 wheels to equip themselves properly at night to ride safely.

Without a lighting device, the cyclist substantially increases the risk of being the victim of an accident. The recall is far from futile because many cyclists neglect their lighting or think they are well equipped when it is not. At night, "you have to see and be seen".

From Monday 6th to Thursday 9th November, Amiens, in partnership with the Prefecture of the Somme, the Municipal Police of Amiens, the prevention service of Amiens Metropolis and the agency launch the operation "Cyclists shine": Tips on best practices, attitudes, and safety equipment suitable for cycling at night will be on the program of the event.

Stands will be set up in the city for the occasion, with an information point on the mandatory equipment of the cyclist, a repair workshop, the distribution of free vouchers for a technical control at the agency, visibility kits (reflective vest, reflex reflectors, fluorescent armbands, lamp set, etc.).

Road safety: pay attention to the accident

The over-accident is the cause of many deaths on the roads each year. This double drama can be avoided by respecting the safety instructions, in particular that concerning the wearing of the yellowreflective vest.

On the Internet, the Gendarmerie reports two recent events to raise awareness. Last week, in the Nerve, on the A77, a heavy truck came crashing into a van of gendarmes of a Road Safety highway platoon, but also a van of the interdepartmental direction of the roads. The three gendarmes and the patrolman managed to hide behind the guardrails; however, a serious injury was reported.

The previous Sunday, in the Gironde, on the N89 between Bordeaux and Lilbourn, a vehicle carrying six people from the same family is forced to stop on a band of emergency stops following a fuel outage. The whole family straddles the guardrail for shelter, but finds itself near an unlighted side road. In the rain, a 10-year-old girl is then hit by a motorist. She will die in the night following her injuries.

Two facts not so different: in the event of an accident, it is imperative to remain vigilant and respect the instructions of road safety, the wearing of the fluorescent vest, the setting up of the warning triangle, the list not being exhaustive.

Yellow vests are still missing at the exit of schools

The account is not there according to the mayor (LR) of the sixth, Jean-Pierre Lecco. Thirteen days after the beginning of the school year, the elected official is worried about not seeing all the "school points" of his district under surveillance. Of the 19 in the sixth, five pedestrian without wearing reflective vest crossings near schools and deemed "dangerous" would not be required. "That's almost a quarter! The mayor of Paris had promised that everything would be ready for the start of the school year, "irritates the elected right that just sent an email on this subject to Colombes Brussels, the assistant (PS) in charge of Security.

A binding position

"There are not five but two schools that are not held in the sixth," said Mathieu Chouteau, head of the Directorate of Prevention, Security and Protection (DPSP) to the City of Paris. The latter admits, however, that supervisory posts remain to be filled. Of the 444 school points listed in the capital, forty still await the arrival of these yellow vests.

It must be said that recruitment for this very demanding position in terms of schedules is not always easy. In upscale neighborhoods in particular, candidates do not jostle for this activity paid hourly. "But we are hopeful to find new candidates among the contractors who are already working elsewhere in the schools of the Celle de Paris," says the head of the DPSP in safety vest.

Bulletproof vests and heavy helmets for firefighters too

It is the air of the terrorist time, the violence of the moment and the national direction of the civil security which advises it. Rescue services are encouraged to equip themselves more heavily for their own protection. "We do not have any equipment obligation," says Lieutenant-Colonel in safety vest. "The national doctrine does not impose, it recommends. But it is hard to imagine a director engaging his workforce with nothing "adds the crisis management specialist. The Moseley subscribes and follows in the footsteps of the departments that crossed it before it which, unlike others, did not have to host matches of the Euro 2016 football that precipitated the application of the measure.

In detail, three Magellan rescue centers, "where three teams of six men per guard, plus one nurse," were trained, will receive personal protective equipment (PPE). A pack consisting of a level 3 ballistic helmet, without reinforced visor like that of the police or gendarmerie. "It does not work on a victim." This explains the preference of the SDIS for a splinter mask that "looks a bit like ski goggles", illustrates Christophe Retinoid. "The extraction (of a victim, Ed) is physical. We made the choice of lightness and practicality. "

After the head, the body will be dressed in a reflective vest (four, in front, behind and on the flanks), of a ballistic level 4 (resistant to ammunition of war). Black with a red flocking, "it is not very visible, but enough to identify us in the field. We are on sites where many orders and where tight tactical coordination "involves knowing who is in action. At this added weight, lifeguards add lighter accessories like knee pads and cut-resistant gloves. Finally, the staff will also have on them a tourniquet to pose oneself on a member or that of a wounded comrade.

It is necessary to extend the list with the collective equipments like rigid trays and flexible stretchers on which the victim is strapped and that one can tow a few meters with a cable to put it in the shelter. The radio exchange system integrates earpieces for communication as discreet as effective in a noisy environment. "We are on agile devices to be reconfigured permanently," says Christophe Retinoid. "We have always adapted." Trained to the nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical risks (NRBC), the reliefs add a mention "terrorism" which pushes them until the paradox of being equipped like police forces to assist victims.

The adaptation of the equipment to circumstances led the Department to open an envelope of 50 000 € for the purchase of new safety equipment. The market has been launched according to precise specifications and the rescue centers concerned should not be long in coming. "There were a lot of things we already had," says Lieutenant-Colonel Retinoid, SDIS 57. The bill is therefore limited. At the same time, the SDIS has increased the so-called "Damage Control" training with its staff. An effort launched for eight months and continues to teach the greatest number of firefighters.

"Even though we changed air with Charlie, the trigger of conscience," the Bata clan had an influence on how to operate, said Lieutenant-Colonel Retinoid, SDIS 57, as Nice did too and as the next attack will likely bring a new evolution in how to intervene in risky contexts.

What should your security kit contain

The mandatory equipment contents of the car safety kit. To drive on the roads of France, vehicles have a legal obligation to be equipped with a car safety kit. The Highway Code has made the following equipment mandatory:

1. Fluorescent safety vest

It must be present in the cabin of the vehicle and be placed in an accessible place, which allows taking it without having to go out. This excludes the safe.

2. A warning triangle

In order to comply with the safety standards imposed by the Highway Code, the warning triangle must be approved with a marking E 27 R. During a breakdown or an accident, it must be positioned at a distance of at least 30 meters from the vehicle or obstacle to report. Note that the vest and triangle kit must be used as soon as the car is immobilized for emergency reasons. Failure to comply with this obligation is punishable by a fine of up to 375 Euros.

3. The breathalyzer

Mandatory since July 2012, it can be a chemical or electronic model, but must meet NF standards or their equivalent. If the breathalyzer must be in working order, its absence is not sanctioned.

4. Non-mandatory but essential equipment

While some facilities are strictly mandatory and their absence may be punished by a ticket, others are just as essential, such as:

The spare wheel

The box of bulbs

These two objects are not part of the mandatory car safety kit. However, their absence can expose to sanctions:

Driving with a defective tire is punishable by a fine of up to 375 Euros and the immobilization of the vehicle. The law requires you to change or have a defective light bulb changed immediately, on pain of a fine of 180 Euros.

The recommended equipment for your safety and that of others

While not essential, some equipment can be very useful. In addition, they are most often inexpensive and not bulky. Among these, we find: The pharmacy box

The pharmacy box can be very useful for practicing first aid in a road accident. It can also be used to treat small injuries during a long journey. It can be essential in the event of a roadside failure during the cold season. It is also effective in protecting an injured person in an accident that you witnessed.

Disposable gloves, latex or vinyl

They will prevent you from getting your hands dirty in case of mechanical breakdown for example. The purchase of this equipment is left to the discretion of each car owner. It must be remembered, however, that some of them can save lives, including yours. In the event of a car accident, be aware that all the information relating to your insurance contract is on your green insurance card, which you must keep with the documents and safety equipments of your vehicle.

Municipal police strengthens its workforce

The City of Rennes has decided to increase the number of its municipal police. Twelve new agents in reflective vest are recruited and are currently undergoing training. Other novelties: the creation of a canine brigade and police equipment with pedestrian camera.

In November 2016, the mayor of Rennes Nathalie Ampere announced new ways for the municipal police. An increase in numbers first, with the arrival of 12 new agents who are currently undergoing training. "They will strengthen patrols and increase the frequency of islanding in neighborhoods.”

Another novelty: the creation of a canine brigade. It is set up and will be operational in January 2018. It will be composed of four agents who will each have their dog, a Milionis shepherd. Finally, since 1 October, the agents are equipped with individual cameras (one per crew) placed on their safety uniform to record, in case of contempt or aggression, their interventions. "The camera does not film permanently," says the City. This equipment is part of a peaceful relationship on public space..."

Vest and telescopic stick

In 2016, municipal police and unions had called for equipment with a firearm, which they said was facing a tense situation in the field. "We did not want it," reminds Nathalie.

The agents are equipped with "safety vest, tear gas and telescopic baton, and now pedestrian camera," says Hubert Chardonnay, deputy mayor responsible for security. Recently, they are also entitled to training sessions on technical intervention procedures.

Workers dont need to risk their lives on highways

They work for the safety of roads, sometimes risking their lives: men and women in safety vest, agents of roads and highways. The number of accidents in areas where they work has soared since the beginning of the year. They therefore launched an awareness campaign.

On the area, between Toulouse and Montalba, hard to miss: a yellow van of the motorway company, whose back is completely smashed. "He was in protection on the A62 motorway, explains Thierry Lasagna, regional director of Vinci Auto route Aquitaine-Midi-Pyrenees. An accident had just occurred, when a truck hit him. It made a good 100 meters forward in shock, and he shrank by two meters ".

Fortunately, that day, no highways agent was on board. But these accidents are more and more frequent: since the beginning of the year, there have already been 200, almost one per day, on French roads.

Basic rules often forgotten

Respect the safety distances, do not ride on the emergency stop band, and most importantly, slow down when you see a yellow vest, these are the basic rules that are obviously not known to all. 32% of motorists admit that they do not always slow down when approaching a construction site on the highway. And some behaviors are even unconscious, denounces Thierry Gravis, head of one of the intervention centers of the A68.

On the area, the road agents met the motorists

"There are displaced cones, or people who pass behind the cones for double," explains the agent of Dir Sod-Oust. This summer on a large construction site, vehicles were returning to the site to double. motorists phone, when they know that something is happening they look at what is happening instead of looking ahead, and at the slightest slowdown, boom, they get into the car in front. Sometimes insulting or spitting on it, because we cause caps, we have the right to everything! "

However, these men and women in high visibility vest who risk their lives every day are there to ensure the safety of drivers, during construction or in case of accident. To try to change things, awareness campaigns are held throughout France this Saturday. A shock campaign was also launched by motorway companies in the media and on the internet.
