Car and walking

When confronted with a car, the pedestrian has little chance of avoiding injuries. However, modern technology gives you the chance to prevent pedestrians from being hit by a car. These are systems that detect the presence of a pedestrian on the road in time.

Not every pedestrian realizes that in some situations he becomes a participant in road traffic, especially when crossing a street. According to the regulations, pedestrians on the marked crossing have priority over the vehicle. At the same time, it is forbidden to go directly in front of a moving car. On the other hand, the driver is obliged to exercise extreme caution when approaching the pedestrian crossing.

The rules allow the pedestrian to cross the road outside the crossing if the distance from the nearest place exceeds 100 meters.

It can only do this if it is sure that it will not hinder traffic, and drivers will not be exposed to sudden braking. In addition, crossing the road outside the marked pedestrian crossing is obliged to give way to vehicles.

The pedestrian also becomes a participant in the road traffic when he uses the road outside the built-up area in a situation where there is no sidewalk.

"In this situation, the pedestrian can move the left side of the road, thanks to which he will see cars approaching from the opposite direction," explains Bradshaw Jesus, Skoda Auto Skoda instructor.

The presence of a pedestrian on the road outside the built-up area is a threat which becomes even more dangerous after dark. Despite the fact that the pedestrian sees the car approaching, it may be invisible to the driver, especially when a different vehicle arrives from the opposite direction. In the brightness of his headlights, the silhouette of a pedestrian on the edge of the road blends with the surroundings.

"At night walking dressed in the dark outfit is seen by the driver from a distance of about 40 meters. However, if it has reflective elements with reflective tapes, it becomes visible even from a distance of 150 meters," emphasizes Bradshaw Jesus.

That is why the regulations impose on pedestrians on their way after dark the obligation to have reflective vests.

The issue of pedestrian safety is extremely important for car manufacturers. Until recently, systems protecting the weakest road users were offered in the equipment of higher class cars. Currently, they can also be found in the cars of popular brands. One of such systems is the Pedestrian Monitor, a function that was included in the standard equipment in Skoda and Kodiak. It is an emergency braking system in case of detecting the risk of collision with a pedestrian. Pedestrian Monitor uses a radar that scans the area in front of the car. The advanced algorithm processes the received signals and at speeds in the range of 10 to 60 km / h, the system can recognize the risk of collision with a pedestrian and react on its own.

In this situation, firstly warns the driver of the danger, and finally automatically starts the brakes. At speeds above 30 km / h, a warning message appears on the display of the instrument cluster.

However, this type of solution does not absolve the driver from caution, while pedestrians moving after dark on the road outside the built-up area to be better visible should wear any reflective element with reflective material. When confronted with a car, the pedestrian has little chance of avoiding injuries. Take care of your safety

According to police statistics, autumn and winter is the time when there are many road accidents, victims of which are pedestrians and cyclists. According to uniform, this is because visibility on the road is significantly reduced, pedestrians and cyclists do not care for such basic items as reflections, and drivers do not attach importance to the light in the cars are efficient and well-set.

Only in 2017 on Polish roads, the police recorded 32,760 accidents in which 2,131 people lost their lives. Unfortunately, the summary of this year will be similar, and perhaps even more tragic.

"Normal reflective bands or reflective vests can really save your life. Attached to children's backpacks, jacket sleeves and trouser legs should be mandatory equipment before leaving the house. This is extremely important especially in small towns and villages, where most roads are poorly or even unlit," emphasize members of the MF Rally Team crew.

It's worth to be walking with reflections

Reflections in the form of bands and hangers make the drivers able to see pedestrians and cyclists even during poor road conditions and limited visibility. The ideal solution is reflective vests and even jackets and sweatshirts with reflective fabrics. These make pedestrians really visible, and therefore safe.

"A cyclist or pedestrian dressed in a garment without reflective materials is visible by the driver from a distance of about 20-30 meters, and if he is wearing reflections is visible from a distance of 130-150 meters. This is very important because a car that travels at 50km / h to break need about 30 meters. At a higher speed - 100km / h, the car needs about 50 meters," convinces the MF Rally Team.

Cyclists on the road must be visible

It is encouraging that the number of conscious and well-visible cyclists is increasing year by year. Still, not all cyclists take to heart the fact that good reflections or bicycle light dramatically increase their safety.

"Before setting out on a journey, it is worth checking if we have a front and rear lamp, whether we have reflectors on the wheels. The reflective elements should also be on backpacks," says the MF Rally Team rally driver.

In accordance with the law

According to the regulations in force, everyone moving outside the built-up area after twilight must have at least one reflective element, which will be visible to other road users. Previously, only children and adolescents under 15 years of age had such a provision. The amendment to the Law on Road Traffic imposes the obligation of having reflections on all pedestrians and cyclists, regardless of their age.

Time for the action "reflect for the senior"?

After yesterday's tragic accident, in which an 81-year-old woman was killed, she was reminded that the pedestrians would wear reflections in the city. After dark, during rain or snow, they are simply invisible to drivers.

The regulations impose on pedestrians the obligation to wear reflective vests outside the built-up area. But it turns out that accidents with their participation are more and more common in illuminated areas, where - it seems - are visible to drivers. Yesterday there was another tragic accident.

As we wrote, the Opel driver hit an 81-year-old woman on the belts. Walking with numerous injuries went to the hospital, but the doctors failed to save her.

- It seems that in a built-up area, where there is street lighting, a pedestrian entering the belts will be visible to the driver. But it turns out that it is different - says Kraft, a press officer of the Karta police. - A lot depends on the setting of street lamps, but after dark, when it rains or snow, drivers often are not able to see the pedestrian entering the belts. That is why we encourage everyone to wear reflective clothing(sewn on reflective fabric) not only outside built-up areas. A wristband or waistcoat costs a few zlotys, and can save a life or protect against loss of health.

While the youngest is more and more often wearing clothing with retro-reflective tapes, or because of school activities, they use reflections, the problem is with older people who very often do not pay attention to their own safety on the road. Maybe it is worth taking care of our seniors to have reflective elements at their disposal, which they can set up when going to a clinic, a shop or a church.

The "Safe cyclist on the way to work" campaign included 50 people

On the streets on Thursday (April 19) you could meet the mayor Krzysztof Kaminski and the head of the road, giving the cyclists reflective vests with reflective tapes. A joint police and city hall called "Safe cyclist on the way to work" covered 50 people.

"Between 6 and 8, the road police officers focused their activities in those regions, where in the morning the most cyclists who commute to work on two-wheeled vehicles appear," informs Ursula, spokesperson of the KPP. "We encourage you to wear reflective vests with reflective materials, not only in the evening but always on the road. To a large extent, they increase the visibility of the cyclist, and thus his safety on the road."

It is worth noting that the reflective vest does not release from the obligation of proper lighting and bicycle equipment.

"From year to year, cyclists from Lodz have more and more communication routes for them, which increase their safety," says Swami, head of the Road Traffic Department of the CPP. "I remind drivers of cars that parking on bicycle lanes threatens to receive a 100-zloty ticket and 1 penalty point."

Wear reflective clothing in DIN standard in traffic

In winter, pedestrians and cyclists make themselves better visible than possible so that motorists notice them in time. The police advises to reflective fabricon clothing and safety accessories.

Buyers should pay attention to the standard DIN EN 13356. The surfaces on school bags, in turn, bear the designation DIN 58124. Anyone who wears a safety vest over their clothing as a cyclist accesses products with the EN ISO 20471 standard. Anyone wearing clothing with such reflective material can be seen at a distance of up to 140 meters.

Election posters of children have been transformed into Christmas tree decorations

Christmas balls made of cut up election banners hung on the Christmas tree in front of the Municipal Guard. This is the final of the action of a reflective Christmas tree organized by the guard and the elementary schools. Children from younger classes learned through road traffic rules, and at the same time created Christmas tree ornaments in the shape of road signs.

On Friday, the youngest pupils from the primary schools decorated the tree in front of the municipal guard. They all wear reflective vests. Tree guards helped in decorating the tree, who from December 6 took part in the "Reflective Christmas Tree" action.

BOMBS OF ELECTRICALLY MATERIALS

The action is part of the accident prevention program. Few people learned through fun about traffic and safety rules on the road. Creative activities also had an ecological aspect - electoral boards of candidates from the last local elections were used to make ornaments.

"These are baubles made by children. The material for Christmas balls comes from the recycling of electoral materials of councilors. We asked them to give us their banners free of charge. We cut them, and the children cut reflective materials on these cut fragments. Some of the ornaments created in this way are miniatures of road signs. " says Tomasz, the commander of the city guard.

SCIENCE THROUGH FUN

"Having fun, the children learned the signs and gained knowledge about road safety. Interesting decorations were also created. It looks very original, and children are happy that they see their work hung on a Christmas tree in a public place. " says Anna, a psychologist from primary school No. 1.

By the way, the students could visit the city guard station. The youngest person liked the police car most.

"REFLECTIONS ARE IMPORTANT"

"I made a "P" shaped ball. Such a sign means parking. " said a girl from the third grade of school No. 1. "I made a sign parking ban," her friend boasted. The boys added that the action is important because: he teaches that the reflections are good because if you have the reflections with reflective tapes and the driver from a high car will see them, it will not affect a low person or a child.

Reflective vests to make pedestrians more visible

The users are elderly people who walk around the roads usually dressed in the dark.

"The Civil Guard yesterday distributed reflective vests to pedestrians that are considered risky. They are elderly people who walk around the roads usually dressed in dark clothes. The agents traveled to a road in Carballo, where they established a device in which they warned pedestrians of the risks they run if they do not wear clothes that make them more visible. Also present was the coordinator of the DGT in Galicia, Maria Victoria Gomez Debar, who stressed that this is the worst time of the year because there is little visibility and the weather conditions are very adverse," says Toni. Debar added that "the use of safety clothing with reflective tape is essential for a passerby to be seen and can be seen."

And why as in the military a uniform? To gather under a vulgar acrylic banner in addition to gray reflective fabrics.

Under a vulgar surplice with disgusting hold and touch. At the implacable stall of deep symbols, it would be the devil to think about this foul flag. Before the rampant hatred of life and its glories of being, of us seizes. Yes, beware of the gray bands by Europe more and more who are crawling and lurking.

Revolt of "yellow vests" at home

Security assistants with reflective vests dislodging a spectator from Campo Nou, the stadium of FC Barcelona / EFE.

Revolt of yellow vests at home of FC Barcelona, RCD Espanyol, and Girona FC. A union has denounced the three clubs to try to free security guards from the obligation to wear reflective clothing in all three stadiums.

The complaint, which is being conveyed through collective conflicts with the three teams, is based on various premises. "The most serious of all is that it violates Law 5/2014 on Private Security, which establishes that security personnel must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to carry out their work. High visibility vests are reserved for posts in which there is circulation of vehicles," explained a spokesman for ADN Syndical, the group that has filed the claim. The entity adds that this supplement "reduces reaction capacity in public order alterations in the interior of the fields" and that not always "the appropriate sizes are given" to the staff, what remains "professionalism".

Clubs: "Obligated by a regulation"

Asked by the question, the two biggest clubs denounced, FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol, have given different answers to the informative requests of this medium. The mouthpiece has not answered. For its part, the eleventh classified in the edition of La Liga this year has indicated that it is a matter that concerns the concessionary companies of security. "The clubs have a secondary role in this conflict", has abounded.

Unofficial sources of the Barca have specified that the vests are used both in the national competition and in the Champions League "in accordance with a television regulation signed with the competitions". They have also defended the use of the garment with the argument that "it helps the visibility of the guards in case of urgent evacuation of a stadium".

About 400 only at the Camp Nou

It should be remembered that the group of security guards is outsourced in the three cases: Barca, Espanyol, and Girona. The three top clubs handle a figure close to 500 professionals in their stadiums, with the Camp Nou, the largest of the venues, taking most of the staff, with about 400 troops. To this figure, we must add security assistance, the staff that is obliged to wear reflective vests with reflective tape for clothing and whose job is to help the spectators and indicates emergency exits, toilets, and other facilities.

Despite this differentiation, the two collective conflicts that began in the Conciliation Service of the Ministry of Labor yesterday, June 21, ended without agreement. The next step will be the lawsuit against the three clubs.

Prevention campaign in road traffic

For the second time in a row, the cantonal police will participate in the MADE VISIBLE campaign of the TCS, the bf and the Fund for Traffic Safety from 15 November 2018. This coincides with the twelfth issue "Day of Light" and lasts until the end of the month.

With the darker seasons and shorter days, the visibility of each road user contributes to safety. From 15th November, the date of the 12th Day of Light, the Cantonal Police will actively support the "MADE VISIBLE" campaign of the TCS, the bf and the Fund for Traffic Safety.

By the end of the month, officials in the canton's shopping centers will ensure a preventive presence to alert as many people as possible to the issue of visibility, especially pedestrians and cyclists. In particular, the police will be present at the start of the campaign on 15 November 2018 between 15.30 and 20.30 at the Fribourg Center. The population thus has the opportunity to discover the Virtual Reality game developed by the French police force, which encourages them to adopt the right behaviors through the emotions they experience through the game.

Close to pedestrians, bus stops, etc., special attention is given to the so-called "weak" road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists, to remind them that their visibility can play a protective role. Reflective fabrics on reflective bags and flyers are distributed with prevention advice.

Pedestrians, joggers

Bright clothing and reflective vests make you already visible at 140m, compared to 25m for dark clothes. The drivers will thus have more time to react.

To be seen at all times, be completely visible (360 °).

Do not fall on the road! Look for the eye contact before crossing.

bike-rider

Before getting on the bike, check the condition of the front and rear lights.

Is your bike well equipped? A white front reflector, a red rear, and orange pedals are mandatory.

Non-assertion of the entrance is the main cause of accident of cyclists; be visible all around (360 °) and show every change of direction clearly.

Laterally visible: equip the bike with reflective material for spokes or reflective tires.

Motor vehicle drivers

Before leaving, check the lights and direction indicators.

Always keep the lights, rearview mirrors, windscreen, side and rear windows clean for a better view.

Adjust your speed and lighting, day and night, weather conditions and visibility.

Turn on the light - even during the day!

Let your eyes control. A visit to the optician can save a life.

Snow and ice belong on a vehicle, neither on the windows nor on the roof.

Wear reflections

"Poor visibility caused by adverse weather conditions and early darkness causes that pedestrians on the road are not very visible to the drivers. Therefore, using the road when difficult conditions prevail on it requires increasing attention by both pedestrians and motorists of road traffic," police officers call.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Road Traffic Law, pedestrians who move along the road after dark outside the built-up area are obliged to use reflective materials in a manner visible to other road users. An exception is provided in the regulations, according to which a pedestrian can move outside the built-up area without retro-reflecting elements at dusk if it is on a road intended only for pedestrians or on the sidewalk.

The use of reflective elements by pedestrians, especially in autumn and winter, when it is dark early and visibility is definitely worse, can save a life.

The reflective element should be placed in such a place that it will be in the field of car lights and it would be noticeable for drivers approaching from both directions (back and front). The car dipped beam illuminates the path asymmetrically (more light is directed to the right side of the road), it is recommended to walk the left side of the road (in the opposite direction to the vehicle traffic) wearing reflectors on the right hand or leg (from the direction of vehicle movement).

Outside the built-up area, the roads usually do not have separate pavements and are mostly not lit or are poorly lit. In addition, drivers develop much higher speeds than in the built-up area, and pedestrians in dark clothes, without reflections, unfortunately, are completely invisible to the drivers. Correctly worn reflective elements can save lives by walking.

1. Wear reflections - no gadgets!

When buying a reflector, pay attention to whether the CE mark has been affixed to it, the name of the manufacturer and the type of the product and whether the instructions for use are included. The lack of these elements means that it is a gadget - not a reflection.

2. Be visible - do not cover it!

Check if the reflective elements are not covered by, for example, a scarf, bag or backpack which made by reflective fabric.

3. You care for health - be an example!

Do you like to run? Use reflective elements.

4. You love - take care of safety!

Make sure your loved ones are visible on the road and use reflective vests.

5. Live - think!

Do not enter the road directly in front of a moving vehicle, including a pedestrian crossing. Wear reflective elements.

The pedestrians arrived

The number of pedestrian accidents has risen. They do not wear reflective vests.

In recent weeks, police have reported several traffic accidents involving pedestrians. In Klatovy, such an accident even made men a life. Many pedestrians still do not realize that they are obliged to use different reflective materials in low visibility when they are in places where there is no illumination. Especially outside the village.

"If a pedestrian goes out of the village in low visibility on the roadside or on the edge of the road in a place which is not illuminated by public lighting, he shall be obliged to wear retro-reflective elements positioned so as to be visible to other road users" is in the law.

In the autumn and winter, the morning gets darker and the afternoon diminishes earlier. Frequency is also fog. Any reflective element that reflects the light back to the source increases the chances of the pedestrian-driver noticing reduced visibility even in the dark.

Appropriate use of reflective elements can prevent the pedestrian from colliding with the vehicle. "In addition to the reflective strips, there are also pendants and patches, which are recommended to be placed on the limbs in the direction of communication. The walker can also use the vest with reflective fabrics while walking outside the illuminated places, "said Dana Layman, a spokeswoman for the Czech police.

Second day of protest of the yellow vests

The French continued on Sunday for the second day in a row with protests against rising fuel taxes and against Macron's policy in different parts of the country. Prime Minister Eduard Philippe will speak tonight about the demonstrations of the "yellow reflective vests".

Nearly 300,000 protesters across the country, a 63-year-old protester killed by a driver who panicked, 400 injured, 14 of them seriously, 282 detainees: the balance of the first day of protest on Saturday yellow vests proves this is a large-scale movement.

Because although they did not manage to paralyze the country, the whole territory was affected by their actions, which were organized outside the parties and unions.

The protesters, who are protesting against the rise in fuel taxes and the drop in purchasing power, blocked roads, roundabouts, and hypermarkets on Saturday and allowed free access to tolls.

The night was "revolt in certain places," with around 3,500 people mobilized "in 87 different places," French Interior Minister Christophe Castanet reported.

The so-called "yellow vests" were also concentrated near the Elyse Palace, the seat of the presidency, where the security forces used tear gas.

According to a survey published by the Journal du Demarche, 62% of the French believe that it is necessary to "prioritize the purchasing power, even if that means slowing down the energy transition" in the coming years.

This Sunday morning you could still see fences in different areas, especially on the A7.

On Saturday the prime minister had left the interior minister to evoke the demonstrations but this Sunday decided that he himself would intervene. Tonight, Prime Minister Eduard Philippe will evoke these protests on the public television station France 2.

With a reflective cap, pedestrians are safer

Pedestrians should be easy to see for other road users. This is ensured by reflective clothing in the dark. The best effect is achieved by the right headgear.

If motorists ignore pedestrians, usually because of their clothes, experts recommend using reflective materials.

Not only cyclists but also pedestrians are safer in the dark season when they wear clothes with as many and large reflective surfaces.

Especially recommended for those who are on foot, be a reflective cap, advises the German Society for Orthopedics and Traumatology DGOU). Take care of the highest part of the body for good visibility from all sides. But even with textiles and safety vests pedestrians can increase their visibility. Accessories such as reflective belts or stickers for everyday wear also make the dark season safer for pedestrians.

In the autumn, let's be careful on the road!

Autumn is a dangerous time for all road users. Police statistics show that the most accidents happen at this time of the year. During this time, the conditions on the road are very variable and dangerous for both drivers and pedestrians who become less visible on the road. Fast darkening, rainfall, slippery surface, are factors negatively affecting safety.

Heavy rain, fog, early darkening, reduce visibility on the road. The wet and slippery roadway is also not conducive to the driver. An additional difficulty is often lying on the roadway leaves - in such conditions, the braking distance may dangerously extend, and in extreme cases, the driver may slip and not control the car. In the autumn, roadways may already be frozen, and therefore slippery, and in such situations, the wheels easily lose their grip. Overtaking in such conditions, passing, cornering can be very dangerous. You should pay special attention to the depressions of the terrain, on hills, near forests and water reservoirs - the road can be particularly slippery there. Exercise extreme caution near pedestrian crossings. Also, be careful when commuting to them. If the pedestrian enters the passage, the driver may not slow down.

The police recommend that you check the condition of the tires in the vehicle in use (tread depth and correct tire pressure) and vehicle lighting. Drivers should remember to navigate the road with lights on and observe speed limits. It is worth remembering that in conditions of reduced air transparency, we should turn on the low beam, and if the visibility is limited to less than 50m, turn on the rear fog lamps. Note that we do not move on daytime running lights with reduced air transparency. Such security measures can save lives not only for us but also for other road users.

Changing the aura forces drivers to change their driving technique and adjust their speed to the prevailing road conditions - unfortunately, many of them seem to forget about it. We remind you that exceeding the speed limit and not maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front is one of the most common causes of accidents in autumn. If there is fog or heavy rainfall and heavy traffic on the road - you should slow down to the speed allowing the driver to control the traffic situation. Remember - permissible speed does not always mean speed SAFE! It is also important to remember about the proper and compliant use of fog lights and daytime running lights.

This period is also dangerous for drivers of motorcycles, who are increasingly using their machines until late autumn, and even throughout the year. Unfavorable atmospheric conditions reduce the grip of asphalt tires and even a seemingly ineffective fall when trying to brake suddenly can end tragically.

A special appeal is also directed at pedestrians not to go directly in front of an oncoming vehicle. Even at the pedestrian crossing, make sure that the driver can slow down. Of course, the pedestrian takes precedence over the passage, but here the principle of limited trust is most applicable.

Every pedestrian and cyclist should also remember about their safety and take care to be visible. A reflective vest, keychain, headband or even a flashlight will make it easier to see the oncoming driver when moving on a poorly lit road. We would like to remind you that from August 31, 2014, all pedestrians who move around the dusk along the way outside the built-up area must have a reflection visible to the drivers. The lack of a reflective element is threatened by a fine. Although traffic regulations do not impose an obligation to use vests and reflective elements in the built-up area, they, to a large extent, improve visibility. Therefore, we encourage pedestrians to wear reflective clothing which made of reflective materials at any time of the day, also in built-up areas, because they greatly improve visibility and avoid tragedy. They give drivers valuable time to take the right response - often saving lives and health.

An additional difficulty in the autumn (not only for drivers) is often worse well-being. The bad mood can affect the speed of reaction and concentration, which is also worth remembering when getting behind the wheel of a vehicle and moving on the road.

Vests help avoid motorcycle crime

In a survey, on more than a thousand cases, 70 percent of the people of Mar del Plata considered that the use of the reflective vest can suppress the crimes.

An opinion poll held that the use of reflective vest which made of reflective fabricon motorcyclists can help in issues of insecurity.

The use of vests with a patent helps to avoid motorcycle crimes, according to a survey carried out by the Vial de la, the chamber that brings together the companies that produce road software.

The same was done by telephone in 1,052 homes of Mar del Plata, in order to have an "X-ray" on the general opinion about the use of vests to discourage the crimes linked to the so-called "motorcycle crimes ". In the province of Buenos Aires, the legislation that would force the passengers to ride with a reflective vest (and the patent of the printed roll) is being treated in the Legislature, as an action to avoid these events.

The question of the telephone survey, conducted in 1,052 households, was "To what degree, between much and nothing, would you say that the use of safety vests with the patent number in the driver's companion helps to avoid the crimes of the motorcycles? "

Thus, for "7 out of 10 of those consulted", the use of the vest helps to a greater or lesser extent to avoid crimes: "24 percent responded that it helps a lot, 23 percent something and 21 percent little. The rest argued that it does not help or was not inclined to any option. "

Taking into account the age of the respondents, the study "observed a wide difference" in the answers. Thus, those over 65 were those who were more in agreement that the use of the vest is a positive contribution: 78 percent opted for the options "help a lot, little or something", but the percentage decreased to 63 percent when those consulted "were between 16 and 29 years old".

For the Road Observatory, the use of the reflective vest contributes "both to road safety and to insecurity", since by using it "the vehicle is better identified, increasing visibility and reducing the chances of a road accident occurring".

On the other hand, he considered that "by having the registration number registered, it contributes to security, granting specific data of the vehicle".

However, the results varied "remarkably" when considering the age of the respondents. Only "3 out of 10 adults over 65 years," said being a victim or knowing a victim of the "motorcycle", or 33 percent. The response rose "to 5 out of 10, 47 percent, in the age group between 16 and 29 years."

In the city of Buenos Aires, the obligation to use the reflective vest for motorcyclists applies since 2017.

In the province of Buenos Aires, it is still not legislated, although last April a project was presented by legislators Carolina, Manias Rankin, and Martina Dominguez. The proposal is to make mandatory the use of the reflective vest with reflective material and helmet (both with the engraved patent) for the driver as for the passenger.

In addition, the prohibition to circulate by two in certain areas and at certain times is projected.

"I am learning safety"

First-year students participated in the conference as part of the real-time ”I Learn to Safety” education program at the Provincial Police Headquarters.

On Friday, October 26, the first class began on the topic of "Safety on the way to school." This is the first of five planned safety education fields. Police Marcie and Prevention Joanna discussed the principles of road safety with children. The meeting discussed road safety specifications. The two-handed student reminded the parents of the seat belt, and adults also discussed the principle of bicycle safety, caring for 10 years old, and having safe behavior in wearing helmets and reflective vests as well.

The child's joy is completed by a surprise prepared by the official - reflective vest with reflective tape for clothing. For the children, the course is very interesting, the children are very actively involved, and answering the questions raised indicates that they have a wealth of knowledge in the widely understood security field.

Remember! Reflecting is not only an obligation but also a clothing element that saves lives!

We'll advise you how to ride for running in the dark, winter and rain

This autumn has been extremely favorable for runners in terms of weather, but the change of the seasons is inexorable. light is diminishing, the temperature is decreasing, the probability of fresh weather is increasing. Learn how to sneak in the dark, winter and rain.

Running in the dark

Some runners are accustomed to the darkness. Most people, however, train from daylight in the spring to autumn, and in the darkness, they go only in the highest distress. However, the sun's late sunrise and its early west have greatly diminished the possibilities, so almost everybody who has to think about it in the winter months at least a little seriously.

In the dark, the runner can encounter two main problems: he cannot see and cannot be seen.

Most parks and cycle paths are now fitted with street lighting and there is no reason to wear your own light source. The first problem is most likely to meet runners who run in the field or outside the city.

The easiest and most effective way to solve the situation is to purchase a headlamp or headlamp. You can get them in different forms from the basic ones that come out of you a few hundred, up to the top devices for several thousand.

The amount of potential investment should depend on how much light you need. For running on roads, pavements, and paved roads, you'll have a simple low-power headlamp, but as soon as you're thinking about night-time jogging on the ground, make sure that cheap headlamp is not enough. For more information on how to choose the right headlamp, you can look forward to an article that comes out in a few days.

Finally, it is advisable to add that when using the headlamp, you should consider your surroundings. When the counterman firs the pupils directly in the eyes by direct light, it is not pleasant. For pedestrians, runners, bikers, and cars, therefore, be careful that the intensity of the light is not unnecessarily high and that the headlight is slightly flanked.

Problem number two, on the other hand, will be mainly runners who are moving in the city and its surroundings.

There is nothing worse than when a cyclist or a car driver overlooks a bicycle because he simply does not see you. Everyone who runs in the dark is supposed to add his overlays to the reflective materials and ideally also to an active light source such as a reflective vest with integrated diodes or a color indicator that can be attached to his backpack or clothing.

Some runners also use special flashlights that can be attached to the running shoe, but I personally prefer ordinary "pin" flashlights that can be pinned wherever you are. Thanks to them, you can cover all possible angles where there is a danger of collision.

Running in winter

Summer is a beautiful season, the runner does not have to solve anything and it suffices with a functional T-shirt and well-fitting shorts. With the advent of autumn and winter, however, one layer stops you enough, and in order to keep you warm, you will have to dress.

The absolute foundation is to use exclusively functional materials that manage to quickly sweat away and maintain body temperature. These materials are by no means a cotton which, after sweating, remains wet, studying, and can run uncomfortably during the long run.

Another principle is to use thinner layers instead of one robust. Rather than warm your jacket, you'd better take two tricks and a light windbreaker. Ensure a much more efficient sweat sweep away from your body and you will not be as dirty as a heavy and breathable jacket.

You can read about how to lay clothes properly in this article.

Running in the rain

Rain is the greatest enemy of the runner in every season, perhaps except for the summer. The problem is that when the cloth is satisfactory waterproof, it usually does not offer very good vapor permeability. You will have a lot of sweat under the waterproof upper, which is not pleasant for the intense movement.

The number one option is to wait until the rain stops and dry, but if you want to run out of the rain for some time or other, you will need a quality membrane jacket that will be reliably waterproof and breathable at the same time.

These requirements are met by a number of jackets made of reflective fabrics such as Shield, Gore-Tex, or Blount. The used membranes are even more on the market, but these are among the most reliable and most widespread. The Gore-Tex membrane is considered to be the absolute leader but counts on jackets made from this material to cost you five to nine thousand crowns. The other diaphragms can usually be obtained for somewhat more favorable sums, but in any case, it is necessary to prepare for a quality waterproof jacket never to represent an investment of hundreds of crowns.

Every second reflective vest did not meet the requirements

"Every second safety vest had a low luminance factor," said the Office of Consumer Protection and Competition on Tuesday. It was emphasized that this means the lack of adequate visibility of the user, which poses a threat to his health and life.

As we read in the communiquй, "The Trade Inspection has taken a closer look at the reflective clothing, reflective accessories and hearing protectors". Inspectors checked mainly wholesalers and stores. They looked at 53 products and questioned 16 of them (30.2%), including due to the negative results of laboratory tests, errors in the instructions for use and the absence of a declaration of conformity confirming that the manufacturer has carried out the conformity assessment procedure.

"Most entrepreneurs have removed errors voluntarily"

"Every second warning vest with reflective fabric tested in the laboratory had a low luminance coefficient, which means that there is no adequate visibility of the user, which poses a threat to his health and life when he moves to the side. For the reasons of formal incompatibility, the inspectors also questioned 5 hearing protectors " it was written in the communiquй.

It has been added that most entrepreneurs have voluntarily removed errors. The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection initiated proceedings in five cases.

"The instructions must be in Polish"

The audit took place in the second quarter of 2017 in nine voivodeships.

Koki pointed out that companies often hand out accessories that resemble glare. "It is not known, however, whether they have the appropriate properties because they have not undergone a conformity assessment procedure." The confirmation that the reflective element meets the requirements is the CE mark, placed directly on the reflector or on the attached label "- it was written. The Office stressed that it was necessary to check whether the name of the producer and "type of glare (1 - freely hanging, 2 - removable, 3 - fixed permanently) on the packaging or label".
